When Gallup completed an international poll in late 2009, 16% of the world’s population (700,000,000 people) indicated that they would move to another country on a permanent basis, if allowed. The top choices were the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and France. Approximately 45 million picked Canada as their first choice for immigration.
